Leprechaun Hat Favors

Happy St. Patrick's Day! And Happy Birthday to my older brother Jonathan, he's 31 today!
I found this craft yesterday before my lunch hour and decided it was totally doable in one evening, well it was but waiting for the paint to dry was a pain! It was also pretty inexpensive, how I {heart} The Dollar Tree!

I'm not the best at writing and photographing tutorials so make sure you check out the link above, but here's my take on it.

Step 1. Gather Supplies: Acrylic Paint (Shamrock), Snack size plastic bowls, black ribbon, Chocolate Coin Candy, St. Patrick's Day confetti. Not pictured: clover, card stock, paint brush, adhesive and double sided tape.
Step 2. Paint the top of the lid, and the outside of the container. I did two coats for better coverage. Let dry between coats otherwise clumping will may occur. After finishing the last coat begin work on clover and buckle.
Step 3: To create the clover I used my cricut and cut out 3 hearts for each flower. To complete the look I used a brad to hold everything together. I also used my cricut to cut out a gold rectangle for the buckle.

Step 4: Once all painted surfaces are dry add the black ribbon to the container using the double sided tape. I had an issue with this, the container is circular but it also tapers so I could not get the ribbon to lay flat. It was very frustrating, so I did what I could. Attach shamrock with adhesive to complete the hat.
Step 5: Fill with Chocolate Gold Coins and St. Patrick's Day confetti and enjoy.
I hope you all have a lovely day filled with all things GREEN! You'd better be wearing green otherwise I'll pinch you! I'll be enjoying some green beer tonight with my friends from work.
